Mann Packaging Listeria vegetable recall in the US and Canada



The recall is in response to a Communication from the Food and Drug Administration and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency regarding possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes.

The packages have a "Best If Enjoyed By" date from October 11, 2019 to November 16, 2019. The packaged vegetables were sold under various brand names, including Mann's, HEB , Del Monte, Hungryroot, Marketside, O Organics, Signature Farms, Sysco and Trader Joe's.

There So far, according to the company, no illnesses related to these products have been reported.

Listeria monocytogenes is a pathogenic bacterium that can cause listeriosis. Listeriosis can cause fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in healthy individuals.

In some people, however, the infection can be fatal. Pregnant women and newborns, adults over the age of 65, and people with weakened immune systems are the most vulnerable, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
