Marie Kondo-Shop: Netflix-Star wants to sell you stuff

The star of the Netflix ( NFLX ) series "Clean Up with Marie Kondo" has launched an online store that runs products on their website KonMari.com "Spark happiness for Marie".

There are more than 100 products on sale, including a Shiatsu staff handcrafted by Japanese woodworkers (US $ 12) and a pair of Tokyo-made leather slippers (US $ 206).

The store, The Only Ships to the USA, is divided into seven categories: Aromatherapy, Bath, Books, Cooking and Kitchen, Home and Home, Tableware and Entertainment, and Cleaning and Organizing.

The opening of the online store on Monday reported for the first time the Wall Street Journal. Kondo representatives did not immediately respond to questions from CNN Business.

The most expensive item to buy is a $ 275 more expensive brass kitchen utensil designed by Japanese Oji Masanori. There is also a $ 1

15 kimono linen robe, a $ 119 oil diffuser, and a Brooklyn Bellocq candle for $ 86.

The cheapest product is a ceramic chopstick holder for 8 USD (the chopsticks cost 10 USD). Other items for sale include bowls, plates, glasses and jugs.
In an interview with the Journal, Kondo said that she did not encourage "buying something too much".

"The most important thing for me is that you surround yourself with objects that give pleasure when the bowl you are with the joy that you are currently sparkling with, I do not encourage you at all to replace it", she told the newspaper.

Why the Netflix show by Marie Kondo does not really change us.

Your plan is to eventually record video footage of the items in the online store. Kondo told the Journal, for example, that she wanted to show a video of her conducting a tea ceremony with the products and how they have a calming effect.

Kondo started her cleaning business as a 19-year-old student in Tokyo. She is the author of the bestselling "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up."

However, it is best known for the Netflix series, which sparked a worldwide wave of home cleaning (and binge-watching) earlier this year.
