Square Enix confirmed during the Marvel Games panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that it will release the footage of the A-Day demo for Marvel's Avengers online, so all of them Week after Gamescom can see 2019.
The Gamescom 2019 will take place from August 20th to 24th, so the footage should be released between the 26th and the 30th of August.
The publisher showed participants of the panel an updated version of the A-Day demo. The official Twitter account of Marvel's Avengers tweeted the event live, even though it was not streamed live. Here is the summary of the tweets:
After an enthusiastic introduction, Greg Miller invited Marvel's Avenger Creative Director Shaun Escayg to the stage.
Shaun starts with a game overview. Marvel's Avenger is an action-adventure game for third parties. Build and rebuild your Avengers list in the single player campaign. Battle alone or online with friends in new missions around the world.
Shaun: Adapt the most powerful heroes on earth and use their unique powers to defend the world. We know that you'll enjoy more details after the launch! More information at a later date!
Shaun now shows us pre-alpha footage from the prologue.
Shaun: We will continue to iterate and polish until shipment. Our story starts on A-Day, it's supposed to be a party, but ends in a tragedy.
And the A-Day demo has begun! We will not tweet every detail live, as we would like to have some surprises in store for you!
First, the god of thunder! Thor is the first to arrive at the Golden Gate Bridge to help civilians and deal with the masked men who cause chaos. He performs a series of heavy and light attacks on the ground and in the air.
One of Fan's favorite moments is that Thor nails an enemy with Mjolnir and suspends him while killing other enemies with his fists. Thor retrieves his hammer and whirls it at incredible speed to create a radial gust of wind ̵
Iron Man now flies over the ruins of the Golden Gate Bridge deftly avoiding the threat. His pulsar explosions and micro-missiles knock grounded and airborne enemies out of the way. Tony's Heroic Unibeam Blast deals massive damage to a group of attackers.
Hulk jumps out of the Black Widow-controlled Quinjet. His goal is to eliminate the Pulsar tanks, which cause massive damage below. Immediately after landing, he picks up an enemy and uses it as a melee weapon against other nearby enemies. The crowd loves this train!
Favorite moment of the fans: After Hulk arrived at the Pulsar tank, he picks him up, turns him around and throws the driver from the eyes. We are sure that he is fine.
While the other Avengers try to secure the Golden Gate Bridge, Captain America explores why the helicopter autopilot has been activated. The helicarrier is infiltrated by enemies and Cap takes on a barrage of melee attack combinations.
We love Cap's Heroic, who bounces off his shield between nearby enemies and stuns them. His next step is just as impressive: Cap hits his shield on the ground and inflicts great damage on nearby people.
At the bridge, Black Widow encounters a newly arrived threat – Taskmaster – who brought a soundbreak bomb to the bridge party. The taskmaster flies in the air, which does not hinder Natascha's persecution. She jumps on his back and hits until the villain lies on the floor.
Back on (semi) solid ground, Black Widow attacks Taskmaster with her diverse acrobatic skills and weapons, including electrified batons. Her heroism veils her with invisibility and allows Natasha to improve the Taskmaster's photographic reflexes.
Despite their efforts, the Avengers realize that the real target was not the bridge, but the helicopter. The helicopter explodes with Captain America and sinks to the bottom of the bay.
A-Day prepares the stage for the remainder of the game. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, when all superheroes are banned and the world is in danger, the only hope is to rebuild the most powerful heroes on Earth.
Shaun shares some super exciting news! The team is working hard to improve our A-Day demo, and we'll be releasing the footage online one week after Gamescom's completion.
Shaun confirms this is the beginning of the game The first time you play as an Avengers is an introduction to the Heroes and their controls.
After completing the prologue, the world opens up and you use a reconquered helicarrier as the base for your operations. I start single-player and co-op missions at hotspots around the world.
In Hall H is now shown a short video in which Shaun explains how to customize the legendary heroes with the classics, fan favorites and brand new outfits.
You'll also unlock powerful abilities and new gear that fits your style of play, and explore a variety of challenging mission environments.
Shaun now resolves a frequently asked question from the Internet – this is a story-driven game with certain missions designed for specific heroes, and many can be played with any available hero in your squad.
Play missions in the world after the campaign with every available hero in your squad to protect Earth from escalating threats. In the future we will receive more detailed information about the campaign and the co-op game as well as how it works.
In Hall H, now a handful of in-game alternatives are exclusively presented outfits in Marvel's Avengers some inspired by over 80 years of Marvel history, and some brand new designs by Crystal Dynamics.
Both Iron Man's original Sin Armor and Hulk's Joe Fixit suit received some love from the audience! Trust us – there will be many more favorite outfits of the fans. With so many mega-marvel fans in the office, there was a lot of discussion that should be included.
Another surprise came in. We work with Gentle Giant on a statue to be added to our Collector's Edition!
Hall H is the first people in the world to see the statue brought out by Bill Rosemann! The luxurious, high-quality PVC statue is a 12-inch full-color statue of Captain America, hand-painted by Gentle Giant Studios artisans. She shows the legendary hero with pride.
Learn more about the Collector's Edition, including if you can pre-order it before the end of the year.
