Mary Lou Retton is not disappointed with her recent setback.
During the Monday night Dancing With the Stars the 50-year-old former Olympic champion opened her painful divorce from husband Shannon Kelley after 27 years of marriage. Then she went on stage to play a tango with her partner Sasha Farber.
But the dance was not enough to bring Retton to safety, and she was eliminated later in the evening. ET's Katie Krause spoke with Retton right after her release, where she spoke positively about the future.
"I knew it would come soon," she admitted. Every time we came to this dance floor, I gave it everything, I do not regret it. "
Calling Farber the" Brother for Life, "Retton added," He taught me so much Teaching me how to dance also taught me a lot about the life and the woman I was looking for. I arrived here, I found her and it feels good. "
Renton said she was ready now for a "new beginning" and said she would feel "lighter" through her story.
It was important for her to be so publicly informed about her divorce.
"I had a platform to do that, and I talked about all my struggles, and I was very general," she explained. "I was dancing and hoping to inspire women, it was a kind of group I was concentrating on, and I hope I can help someone tonight by sharing my story."
Regarding the return to the dating world, Retton said she must see.
"Of course I'm open to it," she said.
