The automaker General Motors is undergoing drastic changes as it switches to electric vehicles.
These include the closure of five plants in North America (four in the US, one in Canada) and the dismissal of thousands of workers.
GM It is expected that 4,000 employees will be dismantled on Monday.
Investment strategist David Kudla, who works with GM employees, posted the news on Twitter on Thursday.
Of the plants that close, 14,000 workers are fired.
This will happen involves more than 2,000 workers in Michigan at Detroit-Hamtramck and Warren.
Even employees of suppliers of auto parts are losing each other.
Some economists predict that three jobs for suppliers will be eliminated for every job lost at a car factory.
