Jordan Spieth scored five consecutive birdies at holes number 13 to 17 to pass in a 6-under 66 to  the 2018 Masters Tournament after Thursday. According to the PGA Tour, this is the third time that Spieth leads the solo after the opening round of the Masters. and for the eighth time, he is either the direct leader or the co-leader of a tour event.

However, the lead in Aguasta after the first round is no guarantee of success. Since 1937, the leader or co-leader of the first round won the Masters 16 times in the previous 81 events (20 percent). Trevor Immelman (2008) and Spieth (2015) are the only players since 1985 who turned a lead in Augusta into a green jacket.
The use of averages and strokes was used as the basis for the golfer score scored per round, and then adjusting for the difficulty of Augusta round by round – for example, golfers averaged nearly three strokes over par in round 1 in 2017, but improved Sparth has an 11 percent chance of winning the 2018 Masters with Dustin Johnson (8 percent) and Phil Mickelson (8 percent) close behind them. Sergio Garcia, the third best man to enter the tournament, saw his chances implode after beating five balls in the water obstacle in 15th place, a thirteenth, the highest score on Firethorn, a 530 meter long par 5 and tying the record for the highest score at every hole in the history of the master.
