The married actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski had a pretty successful year in 2018, and Matt Damon is more than happy to let them know.
Blunt and Krasinski, who was born in Newton and previously best known for his role as Jim Halpert on NBC's The Office, was inducted into Entertainment Weekly's Entertainer of the Year list on Thursday. The honor ends with a great year for the duo that saw the success of "A Quiet Place," as well as Krasinski's role in "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" and Blunt's in "Mary Poppins Returns."
Commemorating the couple's entry On the list, EW spoke with Damon, who co-starred with Blunt in The Adjustment Bureau in 201
"Playing a character on a television show for so long, John had this unfair burden he had to punch through, and that's been made clear now," Damon said. "Emily, I do not think she'll ever repeat herself. When I worked with her in the customization office almost ten years ago, everyone knew she was a really talented actress. With this year's double victory of "A Quiet Place" and "Mary Poppins Returns", she is now a big movie star in the eyes of people who make films green. I do not think we have already seen the limits of what both can do.
In an interview with EW, Krasinski said he could not stop Blunt in "Mary Poppins Returns," which opens on December 19.
"Twenty-five minutes after the show, which consisted solely of Emily and myself "I got up and went to the back of the room, which of course immediately tells your partner nothing but love that you're leaving the room," Krasinski said. "And she said," Oh my god, you have never done that. Should I stop the movie? "And I was at the back of the concession table and just said," No, I'm looking for napkins, "because I just needed something to stop crying and to clean my nose, because in 25 minutes I blown a whole box of handkerchiefs
