WASHINGTON – Health officials have confirmed a case of measles in one person who spent time in the Washington, DC area.
Officials tell news agencies the person who contracted measles outside the country developed symptoms here and is in medical care. Montgomery County health officials, the Maryland Department of Health and the Virginia Department of Health are investigating. Possible areas of exposure include Washington Dulles International Airport at the International Arrival and Baggage Claim areas May 1
Persons concerned about possible exposure and susceptibility to measles should contact their Primary Healthcare Provider or Local Health Department before visiting a provider office or health facility. Measles pose a risk to those who have not been vaccinated.
