MediaTek announces the flagship of the Helio G90 mobile chips for games

Taiwanese chip manufacturer MediaTek has unveiled its latest flagship Helio G90 and G90T processors. The chips contain an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.05GHz using the same ARM Cortex-A76 and A55 cores as the latest flagship processors from Qualcomm and Huawei. The MediaTek chip also includes a Mali G76 GPU with a speed of up to 800 MHz and support for up to 10 GB LPDDR4x RAM.

The G90 and G90T are the first SoCs (system on a chip) in the MediaTek series for G-series games. These include the company's so-called "HyperEngine" technology, which consists of several features designed to enhance the performance of smartphone games. The chips support HDR1

0 and have a smart network prediction engine that, according to MediaTek, detects when Wi-Fi quality decreases and automatically uses a LTE connection as a backup. The chips also include a "Rapid Response Engine" that makes touchscreen controls more responsive.

MediaTek's announcement suggests that the new chips will be at home in game-focused smartphones like the Razer Phone 2 or the Asus ROG Phone 2 In the past, MediaTek's chips were more of a home in mid-range handsets, such as B. Redmi mobile phones from Xiaomi or Nokia's lower-end mobile phones from HMD. With the new G90 series, MediaTek undoubtedly plans to capture part of the gaming market.
