Despite everything, Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle still wants to be an active grandfather for the duchess's upcoming bundle of joy. At least that's what it sounds like on October 20, after a report claims that he thinks she's going to be a fantastic mother and still wants to make amends with her daughter.
It all started when the fans realized that Thomas probably did not hear from the media that Meghan was expecting her first child with Prince Harry, and many thought that she or her mother Doria Ragland had told him the happy news could. While Thomas often rushes to the press to share his thoughts, he still has to talk about Meghan's baby, which is a good step toward fixing the broken trust in her relationship.
Earlier this week journalist Dan Wootton interviewed the incredibly open-minded Samantha Markle – Meg's half-sister – and she is said to have texted Thomas out of the interview to have. Dan said that Thomas Samantha said he was "very excited about the news" and "he later wrote to Meghan that she will be a great mother." This is so cute!
Samantha herself, although she has publicly shadowed Meghan several times, wants to change her turbulent relationship with her sister. "It just makes everything disappear what happened last year," she said about the pregnancy. "I want Meghan to be happy and calm and have peace."
While Meghan now seems completely disconnected from her father, this has not always been the case. In fact, she seemed closer than ever to her father on Father's Day 2016. "I'm still your buckaroo, and to this day your hugs are still the best in the whole wide world," she wrote on Instagram Post dedicated to her "Dad." She also for his great work ethic, and for her to teach the "importance of handwritten letters of thanks." She also estimated he inherited "this signature Markle's nose." In the end she wrote: "I love you xo – Bean."
While Meghan is incredibly close to her mother Doria, we are sure that she would love both parents in her life. Maybe this baby is just the impetus that both need to set aside their differences and come together again. Only time will tell if it is enough!
