Microsoft releases February Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 10, versions 1809 and 1803. Here are the new OnMSFT.com OnMSFT.com

Today is the second Tuesday of the month. On this day Microsoft introduces new "Patch Tuesday" updates for all supported versions of Windows. For those already running Windows 10, version 1809, build 17763.316 (KB4487044) should now appear in Windows Update.

This section contains all the fixes included in this cumulative update:

  • Fixes a problem that can not be set to correct the LmCompatibilityLevel value. LmCompatibilityLevel specifies the authentication mode and the session security.
  • Fixes a problem where applications that use a Microsoft Jet database with the Microsoft Access 97 file format may not be opened. This issue occurs if the database contains column names longer than 32 characters. The database can not be opened with the error "Unrecognized Database Format".
  • Fixes an issue where logging on to hybrid hybrid trust hello hybrid logon fails for Windows 201
9 server domain controllers (DCs) for authentication. The error is: "This option is temporarily unavailable. Please use another login method first. ". When Active Directory (AD) activity tracing is enabled, a Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) exception may occur in the Windows 2019 DC when a user's logon is being processed.
    • Note The AD Data Collector Set and Microsoft Azure Advanced Threat Protection (AATP) by default enable Active Directory Activity Tracing.
  • Fixes a problem in Microsoft HoloLens that allows users to bypass the screen lock registration process in some workflows.
  • Microsoft Scripting Engine security updates, Microsoft Edge, Windows Server, Microsoft JET Database Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows wireless networks, Windows storage and file systems, Windows input and composition, Windows Graphics, and Windows App Platform and frameworks.

The release notes for this new build mention a known issue that already existed in the previous build. This error can cause some Web pages in Microsoft Edge to fail to load if a local IP address is used, and Microsoft says they are still working on an update that will be released in an upcoming release.

If you continue to run Windows 10, version 1803, you should now be able to download the 17134.590 (KB4487017). This cumulative update has the same known issue that affects build 17763.316, but it includes the following fixes:

  • Fixes a problem where the lmCompatibilityLevel value is not set correctly.
  • Adds top-level domains to the HTTP Strict Transport Security Requirements (HSTS) for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11.
  • Fixes a problem that prevents Microsoft from connecting to an IP address.
  • Security updates for Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Graphics, Windows Input and Composition, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Memory and File Systems, Windows Server, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

If you are running older versions of Windows 10, there are also new cumulative updates for versions 1709, 1703, and 1607. We recommend that you review the specific Microsoft Windows Support Web site for more details.
