Microsoft's xCloud streaming preview is now live



Microsoft officially launches its Project xCloud preview for Xbox users in the US, UK, and Korea. The software giant has started inviting people to participate in the beta. The game streaming is limited to Gears 5 Halo 5: Guardians Killer Instinct and Sea of ​​Thieves in the initial preview phase.

"The public preview is a crucial phase in our multi-year effort to deliver game streaming worldwide to the extent and quality of experience that the gaming community deserves and expects." says Kareem Choudhry, Microsoft's head of cloud games. "It's time to put Project xCloud to the test with a range of players, devices, networking environments, and application scenarios across a wider range."

If you can sign up last month, You need an Android phone or tablet with Android 6.0 or higher with Bluetooth 4.0 support, a Microsoft account, and a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One controller to use Project xCloud. Microsoft plans to expand the content catalog for its xCloud preview over time, and the company is also working with vendors to test its game streaming service.

Microsoft has closed a 5G partnership with SK Telecom in South Korea and technical partnerships with T-Mobile in the US and Vodafone in the UK optimize xCloud for mobile networks. "Mobile networks are an important part of global connectivity today, so we'll do our utmost to make sure gamers have a great gaming experience and Project xCloud is optimized for a wide variety of network configurations," says Choudhry.
