Miss Alabama Tiara Pennington announced that she and her mother tested positive for coronavirus.

Pennington made the announcement on Miss Alabama’s social media channels, adding that she and her mother had COVID symptoms, have been tested, and are currently in quarantine.

“This virus is extremely contagious because my mother and I are still infected with the virus despite my family’s Centers for Disease Control policy,” wrote Pennington. “Please tell home if you can and if you can’t, please wear a mask and wash your hands. This virus is dangerous, scary, real and unknown. “

Pennington was named Miss Alabama in 2019, but her reign was extended through the year after the corona virus pageant was canceled. Miss Alabama 2021 will take place from June 9th to 12th, 2021.
