A white Missouri woman trying to prevent a black man from invading his apartment complex was fired by her employer on Sunday after a video of the incident became viral.
D & # 39; Arreion Toles told CBS member KMOV 4 that he was When the woman made a roadblock and refused to let him pass, he returned to his loft in downtown St. Louis.
In videos of the incident posted on Facebook Toles asks the woman several times, "please move". She refuses and tells him that she is "uncomfortable" before continuing to follow him into an elevator and then to his front door.
The wife's employer, Tribeca Luxury Apartments, issued a statement on Sunday calling the incident "disturbing."
"The Tribeca STL family is a minority-owned company made up of employees and residents of many races," it said. "We are proud of this fact and will and will never advocate racism or racial profiling in our company, and after reviewing the matter, the employee has been terminated and is no longer with us."
Toles said that the saddest part of the incident is that it is "something that returns in America". He also told KMOV 4 that he wishes the woman "the best" and "still talks to her."
"I'm not mad at her, I'm not mad at her, I'm not going to pursue her legally or anything," he said.
