The University of Missouri's former football star and NFL player, Dorial Green-Beckham, was jailed in Springfield Thursday morning after allegedly attempting to escape the police by taking a pound of marijuana out of a window was jumped on suspicion of marijuana possession and resistance to the arrest posted. He had not been charged on Thursday morning.
It is the latest in a series of lawsuits for 25-year-old Green-Beckham, who was joined by the Mizzou team in 201
According to Springfield police, Green-Beckham was arrested on Wednesday evening when he tried to escape the police, who issued a warrant that had nothing to do with him. Beckham was present in a house when the police arrived and allegedly tried to escape from a window. The police caught him and reportedly found about a pound of marijuana in his backpack and several vials of THC oil.
Springfield police spokeswoman Jasmine Bailey said the officers also found around seven pounds of marijuana in the residence and another man was arrested. Green Beckham did not live in the apartment.
Despite numerous drug-related arrests and even allegations, he once pushed a woman down a flight of stairs, the only Green-Beckham lawsuit in Missouri – other than speeding and trespassing – DWI charge earlier this year.
Green-Beckham was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2015 and traded to the Philadelphia Eagles the following year. He was cut before the 2017 season.
