Mollie Tibbetts Fitbit is being used in search of her

Mollie Tibbetts, 20, disappeared on July 18 in Brooklyn, a small community an hour east of Des Moines

On the day of her disappearance, Tibbet's brother had her dropped off with her boyfriend to sit, HLN reports , CNN's sister network. The investigators said a neighbor had seen the student from the University of Iowa who had run later that night, according to HLN.

Days after her disappearance, the search for the woman has intensified. The FBI participated in the investigation this week and dedicated 15 agents to the search, which involved an army of volunteers.

Investigators have been running searches for Tibbetts' Fitbit, which she wore, and her Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook accounts, said Mitch Mortvedt, spokesman for the Iowa criminal investigation department.

"This is a new one" That's one of the reasons we called the FBI. It's probably also pretty new to them, "said Mortvedt." I do not know any other case here in Iowa where we specifically used Fitbit information. "

He said he hoped the information would follow investigators' details like the route Tibbetts took before disappearing.

More FBI Agents On The Way

In an interview Wednesday at HLN, Tibbetts & # 39; mother, Laura Calderwood, said the family was told they would get an FBI agent in case.

"That's about 15 FBI agents," she said.

"In my morning letter this morning, I was told there's more on the way," Calderwood said.

Tibbett's friend, Dalton Jack, said earlier this week opposite the CNN-T OWN KCRG, he was one of the first to notice that she was missing.

"I was the one who threw red flags," he told the affiliate.

Jack said he was at work in Dubuque and his brothers were in Ames while Tibbetts was at his house, the station reported.

He got worried and knew something was wrong when she did not come to work last Thursday.

"She did not call," he told the station. "I looked at my phone and noticed that I had written them a good morning that morning and they had not looked at it, so I kept their friends and family."

Search crews began searching that day, concentrating on the fields between Tibbett's house and where she lived when she disappeared, KCRG reported.
Tibbetts brother Jake Tibbett told CNN daughter KCCI he never thought he would see his sister on a missing poster.

He said he had played "every possible scenario a billion times".

"I can never land on you," he said. "That's probably the hardest part."

"Let's Find Them"

Officials said kidnapping is one of the ways they explore, KCRG said.

The Tibbetts family has formed a Facebook group dedicated to finding them, according to an article by a family member, Sandi Tibbetts Murphy. The group had more than 27,000 followers by Wednesday evening.

"Please tell Mollie's information so we can safely bring our girl home," Murphy wrote.

Calderwood told friends she had not spoken to in years to say, "I wish you well."

She said her daughter was born in Oakland, California, but the family moved to Brooklyn, when Tibbetts was in fourth grade, KCRG reported.

Calderwood told HLN that she knew people were praying for the safe return of their daughter.

"I see the pain in my boys' eyes every day," she said. "I have to stay strong for her."

This determination was heard in her voice.

"Just think about Mollie," Calderwood said.

"Let's find her."

CNN's Amanda Jackson contributed to this report.
