More than a dozen American Airlines passengers returned from Ecuador

BOSTON, Mass. – A Massachusetts Port Authority official said 16 people arriving for domestic flights to Logan International Airport were hospitalized by Boston Emergency Medical Services after landing on Sunday mornings.

Boston EMS reported reacting to Logan Airport at 9:20 am with multiple units and transporting passengers to the Massachusetts General Hospital.

The Miami-based American Airlines flight landed at 10:12 am in Boston.

An American Airlines spokesman said the people being transported were part of a school group. One person who claimed to be part of the group told WCVB ABC5 that the group visited the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador before arriving in Miami.

Boston EMS said the people's symptoms were minor in nature. American Airlines spokesman said the students in the group did not feel well.

A passenger of the flight said that people had to vomit in the plane.

The chaperones told American Airlines that all members of the group had "the same thing" on Saturday night before leaving Ecuador.

The Massachusetts General Hospital said that 1

4 passengers were taken from the flight as patients. So far, five have been released and the remaining nine are in good condition.
