Motorola is hosting an event at its Chicago headquarters on August 2. Expected to launch some new smartphones like the Moto One Power and announce Moto Z3 at the event. Citing an insider source, the Android report claims that the company will be introducing not only the Moto Z3 at the event, but also a 5G mod for the device that we've previously seen in leaked images. According to the report, the smartphone Verizon will be exclusive in the US and with the 5G Mod it will be the first smartphone that can be upgraded to 5G if needed. Instead of a smartphone of the Force series, the Moto Z3 will be the flagship of the company this year.
The Moto Z3 should not be equipped with a break-proof display like the Force phones. About the device is little known about the specifications. However, since the new report says it will be the company's flagship 2018, it will most likely be released with the Snapdragon 845 SoC and equipped with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal memory. It is rumored that it has a 6.3-inch OLED Full HD + display and a back-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Z3 could be equipped with two cameras on the back, both of which are 12MP sensors. On the front could be an 8MP camera with AI-based features like embellishment and software-based bokeh. The handset is expected to run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo and may be equipped with a 3300mAh battery.
The 5G Moto-Mod was originally announced for the Moto Z3 Play, but obviously that did not happen. The pre-leaked images of the Moto Mod show a protruding antenna and when hit on the phone it can increase the width of the device by a considerable factor. There's not a word yet about how much the Moto Z3 and its 5G Companion Mod will cost.
