(CNN) – MoviePass indicates that some customers' records have been compromised in a recent data breach.
Tech Crunch reports that the cinema ticket subscription service has confirmed a vulnerability that occurred because a critical server was not protected with a password.
The security breach affected tens of thousands of customers by revealing their MoviePass cards and their personal credit card information.
MoviePass has not confirmed the number of affected customers.
MoviePass cards are essentially debit cards customers pay for movies.
The company claims its system is safe again and continues to disclose information about the incident.
