I love health technology gadgets. But my infatuation usually fades when the novelty subsides (look at Fitbit).
A device I've been using for almost three years has really changed my life. The company has recently released a newer version with more features.
It's called Muse. It is a meditation sensor. Muse uses audio feedback to guide you into a very calm, focused state. If you calm down your thoughts, the feedback – wind / weather sounds – becomes softer until you hear birds chirping.
The updated device, Muse 2, has added a number of new forms of meditation: body movement, heart rate measurement, and breath measurement. Everyone is better than the last one.

This device and associated app has taught me how to really calm down on command, taught me to move from fearful to serene, calm, focused, relaxed and then drowsy – often in less than 10 minutes and sometimes less than five.
Not only do I sleep better, I sleep better when traveling or under noisy conditions. I can also calm down when I panic what happens when I'm stressed or tired.
I've been using Muse 2 for a few months and have found a whole new level of mental calm.
