CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (KDKA) – Want to make money but never leave your bed? NASA may have your dream job.
According to CBS member WKMG, researchers, NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) are willing to pay nearly $ 19,000 to 24 participants to spend 60 days in bed and to be monitored around the clock.
The 24 participants are divided into two groups, but they are housed in a single room. Each person is placed on a slope with their feet above their heads, reducing blood flow to the extremities and mimicking the effects of space. However, this can lead to deafness and muscle loss.
Participants are also asked to do some lying down activities, such as: Eating, reading, watching TV or going to the bathroom.
The compensation is £ 1
A group is thrown around in a centrifuge, similar to an artificial gravity chamber that forces blood back into their extremities. The other group is not rotated.
Scientists hope that comparing "groups" will help them understand whether "artificial gravity" is useful on long-term space travel.
Like most dream jobs, the offer has a hook. You must speak German and be healthy between 24 and 55 years.
