NASA releases first 8K footage from space (and it's really cool)

See you later, 4K. NASA and the European Space Agency delivered the first 8K Ultra High Definition (UHD) video of astronauts who lived, researched and worked on the International Space Station on Friday to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the people who are constantly living on board.

The footage was filmed using RED's Helium 8K camera, a digital cinema company. The camera can record at resolutions from conventional HDTV up to 8K, especially 81

92 x 4320 pixels. In comparison, the average HD consumer TV shows a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, and digital cinemas usually project in resolutions of 2K to 4K.

The RED Camera is the same brand of theatrical productions as The Hobbit Trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2 and television programs such as Strange things .

High-resolution (HD) cameras, 3D cameras, and a camera capable of recording 4K footage on the International Space Station (Space Station) delivered the new 8K camera in April on board the 14th SpaceX freight delivery mission of a Space Act agreement between NASA and the ROT station.

The camera's ability to capture twice as many pixels and at resolutions four times higher than the 4K camera puts science in the orbits of all people on Earth, laboratories, and classrooms, NASA said in a statement ,

"We Are Ex It was about adopting a new technology that enhances our ability to engage our audience in space station research," said David Brady, scientific assistant to Johnson Johnson's International Space Station Program Science Office. "Any improvement in image fidelity brings this person on Earth closer to the experience of space, allowing them to see what space exploration is doing to improve their lives, and enabling humanity to explore the universe."
