NASA wants your favorite music for the playlist of their astronauts

NASA revealed that the company is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. The space flight started on 16 July 1969 with Neil A. Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on board. On July 24, 1969, Armstrong was the first human to walk on the moon.

Now, NASA is preparing to return to the Moon by 2024, meaning a continuous journey of three days each way. For this reason, the astronauts need a "road trip soundtrack".

There are a handful of rules with submissions. First, songs with "explicit titles, lyrics and themes" are not accepted.

The songs must be on an official streaming service. Submissions from "SoundCloud, YouTube, Bandcamp, MixCloud or other user-uploaded content sites" will not be accepted.

The playlist will be released on July 13 and aired by NASA's Third Rock Radio on July 14, days before the Apollo 11 anniversary to launch on July 16. The station may not play each track as specified in the rules and may be chosen at will.
