Nasal spray flu vaccine is back, but not in these clinics

This weekend is Lehigh Valley Health Network's 21st seasonal influenza clinic.

It is free and convenient and is offered in two transit locations.

However, the clinic will not offer the attenuated, nasal-spray, attenuated influenza vaccine, according to the healthcare network. This has been a nationwide return despite the flu vaccine this year, after the last two flu seasons were unavailable due to concerns over its effectiveness.

All vaccines will be injected at the LVHN clinic in 2018, spokesman Brian Downs. The clinic is open to the public from 9am to 3pm. Saturday at Dorney Park in the South Whitehall Township and 9am – 3pm. Sunday at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. Visit lvhn.org to print and fill out an agreement form, register online for a window and learn more.

Similarly, flu vaccine is injected only in the free clinic of the Bethlehem Health Bureau by injection from 1

0:00 to 13:00. November 10 at the East Hills Middle School for Families in Bethlehem District School District, said the city's health director, Kristen Wenrich. Visit the district website to print and complete the consent form in advance.

The 2017/18 flu season was particularly severe, with record-breaking estimated 900,000 hospital admissions and more than 80,000 deaths in the United States, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases said last month.
