Marvel's Blockbuster "" ended the decade-long infinity saga and some fans wondered, "What's next?" Well, the studio replied: A female Thor – played by Natalie Portman.
President ofStudios Kevin Feige unveiled the forthcoming film series in "Phase 4" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) on Saturday at a Comic-Con event in San Diego, CNET reports. One of the films is the fourth installment of the Thor series titled "Thor: Love and Thunder" directed by Taika Waititi. The film is scheduled to be released on November 5, 2021
Waititi addressed audiences alongside stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and said the film was inspired by his recent readings on The Mighty Thor – Series – and female Mighty Thor.
He then announced that Portman would make a comeback in the franchise after appearing in "Thor" in 2011 and "Thor: The Dark World" in 2013 as an astrophysicist and Thor's love interest Jane Foster.
Portman He entered the stage and was judged appropriately by Waititi with Thor's famous hammer.
The star commented on the casting announcement on Instagram on Saturday. "I am so excited to share the news with you today at # sdcc2019 that I will return to @marvel #mcu as a female Thorin," she wrote next to a photo where she accepted the hammer. "(Remember, this is the previous picture when I'm jacked up)," she added.
In addition to a Thor woman,introduced a number of heroes that will be the focus of attention in the upcoming issue
s Black Widow finally gets her own movie – the start of the fourth phase in 2020. "Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings" with Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, is scheduled for February 2021. The film marks Marvel's first with an Asian lead role.
Thompson, who had previously alluded to her role as LGBTQ, said Valkyrie must "find her queen" in the upcoming episode "Thor" during the panel. Feige confirmed that the character, according to Collider, would be "explicitly" part of the LGBTQ community.
"Yes, that is the case and will be the case not only at [Valkyrie] but also at other characters in some of the films we talked about today," said Feige at the point of sale. Valkyrie will be the first LGBTQ superhero in the MCU.
Studios also surprised fans with a new version of "Blade" featuring Oscar-winning Mahershala Ali.
