Raptors: Toronto enters the playoffs and hopes to wipe out some serious demons. They have been eliminated in the last three seasons by the Cavaliers teams led by LeBron James and obviously do not have to deal with him this time, but still want to prove that they can reach the NBA finals. Nick Nurse, the first-year head coach, has performed well since the acquisition of Dwane Casey, and the new additions Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green and Marc Gasol were welcome additions backed by the massive improvement of Pascal Siakam. This is a Toronto team looking for blood, but fears of the first round could give them setbacks and seriously damage their confidence.

Magic: They hate using the term "housekeeping game", but it's really true here. Not many have predicted the magic for the playoffs, and now that they have done so, almost no one gives them a chance against a loaded and experienced Raptors team. But then riots happen when the teams have nothing to lose. Nikola Vucevic was outstanding throughout the season, and Aaron Gordon could be ready for a playoff breakout. It's time to roll out the ball and see what happens.

Matchups to watch

Pascal Siakam vs. Aaron Gordon: Gordon, an aspiring star, is likely to be guarded (among others) by Siakam, who has become one of the NBA's most versatile defenders. Gordon is a tough matchup for the big boys because he can play in the area and a tough matchup for the wings because of his strength in the post – Siakam can do both, which could make Gordon difficult in his first playoff appearance.

2. Bank Units: This is not a flip, but the Raptors Bank could give the Magic starters a chance for their money. Under the direction of Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Serge Ibaka, the depth of Toronto has been one of the strong suits for several seasons. Compare that to Magic, which has only a limited bankroll outside of the former Raptor Terrence Ross, and there could be ugly minutes as Steve Clifford tries to give his followers much needed rest.

3. Kyle Lowry Vs. His injuries: Toronto has been quite rested for Lowry this season, but he has some nagging complaints that just do not go away. The Raptors will probably be able to do without him without the depth mentioned above, but they will need Lowry during the crunch time when the games are about to end.

Series Prediction, pick

Four Raptors: It would be nice to believe that the magic will be able to achieve at least one play-off game, but it does not seem to be Being on the cards in Toronto has the advantage in almost all areas, so it will take some monster games by Vucevic and Gordon, as well as hot shots from Ross, DJ Augustin and Evan Fournier to have any chance at all. There might be a few short games, but in the end this ends in a Toronto sweep.
