Well-known astrophysicist and Cosmos host Neil deGrasse Tyson was charged with sexual misconduct by three women.
In an article published by Patheos on Thursday (via ) Hollywood Reporter two former colleagues reported cases in which deGrasse Tyson made unwanted progress. A third woman, raped by deGrasse Tyson in a blog blog for the first time in 2014, also spoke with Patheo's (19459004) for her article.
A prosecutor, a professor of physics and astronomy at Bucknell University named Katelyn Allers, accused deGrasse Tyson of having met her at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society in 2009. Another, a former deGrasse Tyson assistant named Ashley Watson, said he had made unwanted passports with her. Watson also reported incidents in which deGrasse Tyson made inappropriate comments and kept a list of what he referred to as "overweight actresses" on his phone. Considering the allegations; National Geographic and Fox, home of Cosmos have launched an investigation. "We have just become aware of the recent allegations regarding Neil deGrasse Tyson. We take these issues very seriously and review recent reports, "National Geographic and Fox said in a statement.
The producers of Cosmos added in their own statement:" The credo in the heart of COSMOS is the evidence keeps track of where it goes. The producers of Cosmos can not be less in this situation. We commit ourselves to thoroughly investigate this matter and act accordingly once it is completed. "
