Nestle eliminates 126 jobs in Wisconsin and closes two plants

APPLETON, Wisconsin (WBAY) – (Updates to correct that the facilities are not facilities, but inventory and storage locations)

Nestle USA and Nestle Dreyers Ice Cream have one Restructuring announced that eliminated 126 jobs in Wisconsin, including more than 30 in Appleton.

Nestle USA informed the state that its Delavan and Sussex sites will be closed by the end of the year, with 31 jobs each.

The sites in Appleton and Medford will be partially closed, laying off 32 employees at each site.

Layoffs begin on November 1st.

Nestle USA announces to Action 2 News that these are warehouse and warehouse transfer facilities. Nestle announced in May the switch from a direct delivery network to a warehouse model.

Appleton's layoffs are in retail and in the frozen supply chain. Affected jobs include pre-sales representatives, merchandisers, delivery drivers and sales managers in the district.

Workers are not represented by a union.

According to Nestle, the number of employees affected may change.
