Deadline has reported that Netflix is developing a RESIDENT EVIL-based series, and although the project is at a very early stage, Deadline has listened to it. Keeping the premise of the franchise, it will also expand the universe and the existing mythology deepen. It is expected that the Resident Evil series " will explore the dark interior of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T virus. " Constantin Film, the studio behind the RESIDENT EVIL films are also involved in this potential series, and the search for a showrunner is in progress.

The six films in RESIDENT EVIL followed Alice (Milla Jovovich) in the fight against the nefarious Umbrella Corporation that triggered a worldwide zombie apocalypse. It was not long before the movie franchise addressed the over-the-top action at the expense of survival horror aspects. And although I doubt the new big-screen reboot will change that, the TV series is perhaps the best choice to make Resident Evil scary again.
