Two different airline pilots claimed to have discovered the same UFO – a mysterious, reflective object – that flew over southern Arizona last month and hovered about 9144 meters above sea level. They reported it to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which issued a radio broadcast of the incident, reported Tuesday.
According to radio broadcasts between the two pilots and air traffic controllers recently provided by the FAA to the Phoenix New The sighting took place at 3:30 pm local time (6:30 pm EDT) on February 24, somewhere in the Sonoran Desert near Phoenix "Was anyone above us who passed us like 30 seconds ago?" The first pilot is heard as he flew a Learjet to California.
"Negative," an air traffic controller from the FAA's Albuquerque Air Traffic Center in New Mexico replied.
"OK," answered the pilot. "Something has done."
The first pilot could not determine if the unidentified object was floating or actually flying. Whatever the object was, it was at least a couple of thousand feet above the jet, the Phoenix New Times reported.
A few minutes later, the FAA asked another flight nearby – an American Airlines Airbus heading in the same direction – to be careful and look out for anything that passes over them in the desert.
The confused American Airlines pilot agreed. Within minutes of the warning, the Airbus crew saw the same Mystery object flying over their plane.
"Yes, something has just passed over us," reported the Airbus pilot. "I could not tell if it was a balloon or something … but it had a great reflection about it and it was a few thousand feet above us, in the opposite direction."
A few weeks later, the authorities are still surprised where the object came from. Apart from these two pilot reports, the FAA said they could not confirm that any other aircraft was nearby to have noticed the unidentified object. They said it was unlikely to be a "Google balloon," a weather balloon, or a military vehicle.
"We work closely with a number of other agencies to safely carry military aircraft and civil aircraft of all kinds off this range every day, including high-altitude balloons," said a FAA official.
A database based in Washington's National UFO Reporting Center claimed that New York City had seen 85 UFO sightings in the past two years.
Manhattan alone experienced the most sightings – 27 to be precise – in 2016.
Another newly released video and audio, released earlier this month, showed US Navy pilots apparently hitting a UFO while holding their Boeing F / A- 18 Super Hornet fighter jet along the East Coast in 2015.
"What … is this thing?" a pilot was said in the video.
"Oh my god, dude, look at this flying!" another called out.
According to an ABCNews.com report earlier this month, the 35-second footage taken by an infrared camera aboard an F / A-18 fighter jet covering 25,000 feet was brought to the stars Academy of the Arts and of the Sciences (TTSA), a private scientific research and media group
This video came after the release of two other released videos of the apparent UFO sightings by US Navy pilots, published by The Times December 2017.
