The celebrated action RPG of Dark Souls will soon see a new generation of consoles. The remastered edition of the game will be released in May for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and prior to its release, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer that brings fans back to some of the threats that await them.
Like his soul predecessor Demon's Souls, Dark Souls is known for its deliberate combat system and relentless difficulty. The game takes place in Lordran, a crumbling kingdom where gargoyles, ghosts and all kinds of terrible enemies live. The new trailer shared by Bandai Namco shows a number of the monstrous bosses and enemies lurking in Lordran; you can see it above.
Dark Souls Remastered can now be pre-ordered on the PS4 and Xbox One with the new trailer. In the meantime, PC players who have purchased Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition from Steam receive a 50% discount on Dark Souls Remastered. As of May 8, Prepare to Die Die Edition will be removed from Valve's Storefront. However, anyone who has bought it can download and play it again.
Dark Souls Remastered will be released on May 25 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Along with newly designed graphics, it offers a selection of quality life changes. Prior to release, Bandai Namco will conduct a network test for PS4 and Xbox One. The publisher did not announce the network test date and time, but promises to share this information "as soon as possible".
Dark Souls Remastered is also under development for Nintendo Switch. This version was originally planned to release on May 25 but it and the corresponding Solaire of Astora Amiibo have been postponed to this summer. Consequently, the switch network test was also postponed by Dark Souls Remastered.
