New Destiny 2 Development Roadmap Details Experimental Crucible Labs PvP Mode

Bungie has released another roadmap with new updates for this summer. The next update will be on May 29, featuring changes to faction rallies, exotic armor sandbox changes and Crucible Labs.

Since Crucible Labs was never mentioned in earlier roadmaps, design director Derek Carroll discussed what this new feature is. He explained that "Crucible Labs will give every Destiny 2 player access to experimental PvP content." The feedback they receive from the community will help them develop new Crucible modes. Before Crucible Labs is launched, Bungie will give more details about what it is and how players can access it. This feature was created to involve the Destiny community in the creative process.

The last update for the summer will fall sometime in July. In addition, bounties and Year 1 triumphs will return to Destiny 2. There will be more exotic Armor Sandbox changes, Prestige mode for Raid Lairs, PC Clan text chat, and a new seasonal event called Solstice of the Heroes. As with previous seasons, Solstice of Heroes will reach new goals for players and receive new rewards.

Season 1 for Year 2 starts in September and the roadmap has not changed significantly with weapon randomization and slot changes, equipment collections and new game modes. It is likely that the new game modes will include the final product of Crucible Labs. However, Game Director Christopher Barret made it clear: "There are a lot of eagerly awaited updates coming out in September and we'll tell you more about the coming months, including our plans for the second year of Destiny 2."
