Geoff Goodman, one of the developers of Overwatch spoke about Symmetras revision of the Blizzard Forum and revealed new details about the hero.
For starters, Symmetra will have their maximum revolver flat rate reduced from five to three. Each tower will have 30 health and cause twice as much damage as the previous towers.
"Remember, it's almost as if you're going to use two towers at the same time because they're stronger one at a time," Goodman said. "They lose a bit of card coverage, but overall, the turrets are actually more effective, not less."
Blizzard is also working on a new way for Symmetra to use their turrets by giving her an unfolded turret like a projectile. This tower will stick to walls or ceilings and then unfold and damage like normal turrets.

Goodman went on to say that the team tried to heal their towers rather than do damage to support them, but it felt "super embarrassing" how quickly characters moved across cards.
On top of the tower, Goodman also teased a brand new weapon for Symmetra. However, these changes to the weapon are not specific and could change if Blizzard continues to revise the hero. The Overwatch team plans to replace Symmetras weapon with a weapon that fires "rather thick and with greater range."
"It still has the potential to inflict additional damage by causing damage now, but instead of 30/60/120 dps, it is currently 65/130/195 dps," said Goodman. "This means that the weapon has a lot more potential, but it's harder to get it up to speed."
Their alternative fire will still be a charged big projectile, but there will be a number of changes, including an increase, in projectile velocity. It now also affects enemies and environments by exploding and causing area damage around it.
However, the final and most important change from reworking is the change to its ultimate. Symmetras teleportability will now switch to their e-ability, while their photon barrier becomes the ultimate talent. These changes will dramatically change the way these skills are used.

This redesigned teleporter capability will allow them to place meters away instead of directly in front of them. When you place the exit, the entrance is automatically set up in front of you.
The new teleporter feature allows you to transfer multiple items, not just other heroes. Torbjorn's tower and D.Va's' Mech, when it explodes, are just a few of the examples that Goodman has listed. [As for] "[As for] their Photon Barrier … [it] … is now very different too, instead of placing it As a moving barrier, it places a static barrier wall that is effectively infinite in size and has 5000 health." Goodman said , "She places this wall as Mei places her ice wall, which means that you can place her at a distance and you can also change your orientation."
Goodman went on to say that these changes are in the early stages. There is no estimate of when players will have a chance to see the new Symmetra, or whether any of these changes will persist after the completion of the overhaul.
