The New England Patriots released broadplayer Antonio Brown on Friday after just one game with defending champions on charges of sexual assault.
"We value the hard work of many people over the last eleven days, but we believe that is the case. It's best to move in a different direction at this point," the team said Friday afternoon. At about the same time, Brown tweeted: "Thank you for the opportunity to appreciate @Patriots ."
The Patriots signed Brown after being disputed by the Oakland Raiders over disputes over him Helm and a reported confrontation with the general manager of the team had been injured.
After New England signed him, Brown was accused of sexually assaulting a coach and filed a lawsuit. His lawyers have rejected all allegations from the lawsuit.
The Patriots dropped Brown one day after Nike confirmed that they had parted with the mercury-wide receiver. He "hopes to play for another team this season".
And earlier this week, Sports Illustrated reported that Brown had allegedly sent "intimidating" text messages to a second wife, who also accused him of unwanted sexual advances.
He called this woman "super broke" and threatened to "seek her background," according to her lawyers, who sent copies of the text messages to the NFL offices and patriots on Thursday.
"We have included the relevant text messages here that clearly violate the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy as they constitute" stalking, harassment or other forms of intimidation, "wrote the woman's lawyer, Lisa Banks.

Hours before the player was released, patriot coach Bill Belichick left the stadium. A press conference where reporters asked him several questions related to Brown.
"I think I've already mentioned this, so we're getting ready for the jets here and happy to answer any football questions," the coach said, "but the rest is done."

Brown's only game for New England was a 43-0 win against the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. He received a touchdown pass from Tom Brady and led the team to shipyards.
The NFL said that Brown is currently a full-fledged free agent, he was placed on the "Commissioner's Exceptions List", which was called a paid vacation. is currently not appropriate.
