Today, thanks to a number of leaks from various sources, we’re taking a look at Apple’s full iPhone range for October 2020. As far as we can tell, the iPhone 12 mini will be one of four devices and be a device size Apple has been around has not seen it for several generations. Rumor has it that this so-called iPhone 12 mini is roughly the same size as the original iPhone 5 or iPhone SE!
As we researched back in May, the smallest of the four new iPhones for 2020 could be smaller than the iPhone you’re holding right now. Smaller than the iPhone 6, 7, 8, smaller than the X. This new device could get its rumored “mini” name via MacRumors and the following tweet from L0vetodream with a body not much bigger than the iPhone, which was in late 201
The full collection of new iPhone devices, which were unveiled in October 2020 and released in late October or early November, is expected to look like this: iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The two smaller devices, iPhone 12 and 12 mini (not to be confused with the iPhone X DIY mini), have very similar functions and save a slightly different screen size. The Pro models will have advanced camera arrays and sensors, and will have significantly higher prices. The size of the display on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will likely be the same. So it will be interesting to see how Apple makes their differences clear at a glance.
The iPhone 12 is expected to be unveiled on October 13, 2020 at a special Apple virtual event. It will have been a difficult decision for Apple to hold this event virtually – just as it did for the September event for the iPad and Apple Watch. However, given the high production value of the streaming virtual presentation compared to the possible negative impact of a personal press event, this could be the case from now on.
It is also possible that Apple will hold its special event on October 20th – Apple has not yet given a specific notice through official channels. We’ll see soon enough!
