Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will not be the bestselling smartphones of the year after their release in the coming months. In fact, Apple will sell more new iPhones during its debut weekend than Google Pixel 3 will sell phones throughout their lifetime. That seems like an exaggeration, but we assure you it is not. Estimates suggest that Google sold less than 4 million pixel smartphones in 2017 as a whole. Meanwhile, it is known that the sales of Apple's new iPhone models alone in the first sales weekend in the tens of millions. Even among Android providers, Google is far from being the top-selling mobile brand, even though Pixel brand smartphones offer huge advantages over the competition.
Google just does not have the reach that other phone companies have, and it does not invest nearly as much in marketing and advertising for its Pixel Phone lineup. Pixel phones are only available in a handful of markets, and distribution is severely limited in key regions such as the United States, where phones are available only through a large mobile operator. We sincerely hope that Google will make things happen in 201
Last year smartphones Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are … nice. Sure, they have designs that were outdated when they were released, but the phones themselves are terrific. They offer a pure Android experience that is not affected by additional layers of vendor software, and they are the only Android phones that get access to new Android updates the moment they are released. This is a huge advantage over competing Android phones and makes the Google Pixel program the first choice of many hardcore Android fans.
In 2018, Google's flagship Pixel 3 XL will still offer the same benefits as the current-generation pixel generation, but it's packed in a fresh new design that's sleek and modern, though familiar.
After a few inferior images that leaked Thursday morning, xda-developers has released a new series of leaked photos that give us a better look at Google's next-generation flagship phablet, the Pixel 3 XL, give. The photos show a completely overhauled design with a full glass back, unlike aluminum like Google Pixel's first and second generation smartphones. Front we can see that Google has surprisingly copied Apple's iPhone X design with a large notch at the top of the screen. Unlike the iPhone X, however, the notch seems to contain a dual-lens camera while a camera with a lens remains on the back of the phone.
Here are some of the leaked pixels 3 XL photos:
Google's Pixel 3 XL still has a "chin" bezel on it bottom of the screen, but otherwise it resembles a larger version of Apple's iPhone X The chin stays, because Google, like other providers, does not want to use the expensive solution that Apple has developed to eliminate it. Apple uses expensive flexible OLED display panels and actually bends them 180 ° at the bottom of the phone. In this way, the display controller component can be hidden behind the screen itself, rather than underneath as with most phones.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Pixel 3 XL is expected to have the same specifications and performance as any other Android flagship in 2018. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset is accompanied by 4GB of RAM, and yesterday's Pixel 3 XL Leck confirmed that there will be an option with 128 GB of internal memory. It's unclear what other storage options Google could offer. The next-generation pixel phone also has an all-glass back panel, so there's likely to be wireless charging support – so far, OnePlus is the only company that has switched to an all-glass back for no reason at all. Earlier Pixel phones were released in October over the past two years, so we'll probably have to wait about five months before the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL hit stores appear. The phone pictured in these leaks is an early prototype and production probably has not started yet.
