Blizzard has released a new animated short film for "Overwatch" called "Shooting Star", and this time the focus is on the popular Meka driver D.Va. The short film was shown at the Korea Fanfest, where Blizzard also debuted a brand new Overwatch card. The video begins with a news report about D.Va, who has become a national hero by defending her nation from omnics.
Although the news reports that D.Va, whose real name is Hana Song, is bearing the fruits of her efforts by leading a glittering and glamorous life, she is actually shown at home repairing her Meka and chewing on non Copyright infringing Doritos. D.Va always thinks about how her country relies on her to save her, and that means she can not relax. And she proved right when the enemy omnics launch an attack. You can see what happens next in the video above.
The new Overwatch map is also based on D.Va and South Korea. Players have to play it through checkpoints at three locations. "Explore the tranquil surroundings of the Sanctuary, surrounded by an ancient temple, beautiful gardens and historic architecture," Blizzard said. "Meet in the bustling metropolis of Downtown where gamers will argue about a busy PC bang, a flashy karaoke bar, and a central city train station (just watch the train).
