Two brothers who woke up at home to an intruder picked up the case on Monday morning, hit the alleged burglar with a baseball bat and put him to death, police said.
A 26-year-old man reportedly broke into a house on Monday at 2:45 am in the neighborhood of St. Albans of Queens when he met the two brothers, aged 16 and 27, FOX5NY reported.
At least one of the men is said to have faced the man and hit him with a baseball bat and stabbed him. It was unclear whether one or both brothers were involved in the incident.
The police arrived at the scene to find the alleged burglar who was not immediately identified, with head injuries and puncture wounds on his torso. He was taken to the hospital and declared dead.
There were no arrests and the police are investigating the incident.
