In the other news of the day, an early-morning bus crash in Ecuador killed at least 24 people and injured 22. Officials said the bus hit and turned an oncoming vehicle at high speed. It happened southeast of the capital Quito in an area known as the "skull". Many of the passengers were Colombians and Venezuelans.
A car plowed pedestrians in front of the Houses of Parliament in London today, injuring three. It was the last such incident in the city. The police described it as an act of terrorism. The crash came during the busy morning rush hour. The driver was arrested, but the investigators said he refused to speak.
Back in this country, President Trump escalated his war of words with former White House Advisor, Omarosa Manigault Newman. In her new book she claims that there is a sound recording of Mr. Trump using a racist bow. On Twitter, the President called her today, quote, insane, crying, low life, calling her "this dog".
Later, the White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders was asked to guarantee that there was no Mr. Trump band with the N-word.
