What used to be unthinkable is now supposedly an option. The Raiders are seriously considering trade deals for Khalil Mack.
Several reports on Friday indicated that there is a competitive market for the All-Pro edgebreaker, which is holding back services in search of a long-term, large-scale expansion of their money contracts. 19659003] With less than 24 hours to go before the end of the cut-down day, the market for #Raiders star-pass rusher Khalil Mack is robust, I am told. There are enough teams interested where the chances of Mack being traded are very real. Oakland measures and listens. Sign up tomorrow.
And with big money we really really mean big money.
Aaron Donald signed a $ 135 million six-month contract on Friday morning, which includes $ 87 million guarantees
This massive contract has completely changed the market for defensive players and set a new bar for elite business. Mack is certainly one.
Sources told the NBC Sports Bay Area on Wednesday that the teams called, but the Raiders did not consider a Mack trade.
The winds have reportedly shifted to Alameda, and the Raiders are considering a trade they weighed just days ago. NFL network reporter Mike Silver explains that the Raiders are in active talks to possibly trade Mack.
In other words, the Raiders are involved in active trade talks with multiple teams. The price is very high. We could see a trade in the next 24 hours, but I'm told that's far from certain.

Saddled with a high-priced quarterback In Derek Carr, the Raiders are considering their ability to trade Mack instead of paying that kind of money to two players. It is rare for a team to invest so much in two players, but the Raiders were in trouble after rookie contracts for Mack and Carr fell due.
All of this does not mean they trade Mack, but they are reportedly exploring the idea. The price, as you expect, is sky high.
According to Silver, owner Mark Davis does not like the idea of Mack being a Hall-of-Fame talent, the 2016 NFL Defense Player was named the Year and is widely regarded as one of the best Edge Rushers.
Gruden, Silver writes, is open to the idea of adding money previously reserved for Mack to Mack to add depth and talent to the roster.
Mark told me Davis does not like the idea of trading Mack. Jon Gruden is much more open. He believes that the kind of financial obligation it takes to keep Mack could instead be used on multiple players to support a flawed defense …

Gruden has the final say in personnel decisions and certainly plays a role in the fact that the Raiders offer deals for someone who is expected to be a cornerstone of a franchise that moves to Las Vegas in 2020.
Mack has been silent throughout the process. and his agent Joel Segal has not reported on contract negotiations that have not progressed for months. The pages are nowhere near. The Raiders are obviously reluctant to pay the current interest rates on elite defensive talents, especially with Carr's deal, some expensive interior offensive linemen and a possible expansion for Amari Cooper on the horizon. This deal could be expensive if Cooper has a year at Gruden.
Again, just because the Raiders have entertaining deals does not mean they trade Mack. He remains under contract for a fifth-year team option worth $ 13.846 million. The Raiders were able to use a franchise tag to keep him in expensive silver and black one-year contracts for another two years. There was inwardly hope that Mack would also report without a new contract before the regular season opener, although reports say he remains steadfast in his commitment to wait for a new contract.
While little has happened in the last few months, the coming days will be important in terms of Mack's affiliation with the Raiders. The tempo started Friday night.
