Following a rumor that they first published last year, The Wall Street Journal now reports that Nintendo is planning to release two new models of the Switch, and both may be in the US in 2019.

The second model "is a cheaper option for casual gamers who see Nintendo succeeding their aging 3DS handheld." The Wall Street Journal cites subcontractors and software developers in its report.  It is claimed that the cheaper model by removi reduces the cost of ng functions, with specially mentioned vibrations.
The WSJ says both new releases are expected to be announced at E3 and "may be released a few months later" in time for Christmas and to release new games like Pokemon Sword & Shield and Animal Crossing .
The possibility of two new models is interesting. I think most people who were interviewed after the first report thought that a new switch would either be a cheaper substitute for the 3DS or an uplifted console for fanboys. to receive both would be wild.
