DJ Khaled and his crew from last year's summer hit "I'm the One" returned for another catchy tune titled "No Brainer". The clip, featuring collaborators Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper, shows the background of a video set.
While certain aspects of the video were pretty obvious – like Bieber Mustache and all product placements – – There are 10 things you may have missed out on the "No Brainer" video.
1. The Hollywood Shield is "We the Best"
In the opening scene of the video, Bieber jumps out of a car and stands in front of a colorful California background. The hills on which the iconic Hollywood sign can be seen have a new look. The sign says "We the Best" in homage to the record label founded by Khaled
2. Asahd is credited as the director
The opening speeches exclaim Khaled's consummate 1
3. Bieber spoils himself with food restaurants
While the scene turns into a sizeable palm-filled background, the "Love Yourself" crooner enjoys a snack while walking on parked cars. His food of choice? A Maishund
4. Asahd spends time with JB
While Asahd does his work as a director, he cools down on Bieber's lap while the duo gives instructions and walks around with dad DJ Khaled. Ashad smiles from ear to ear and it is adorable.
5. Quavo's portrait moves
The Migos member paints an abstract portrait of the model in front of him on a pedestal. As the camera zooms in on the scene, the eyes on the painting begin to flash.
6. Quavo wears a Crash Bandicoot necklace
He unveiled the necklace on Instagram for the first time, but the necklace inspired by Crash Bandicoot reappears in the "No Brainer" video. Astonished Aku Aku is a well-known video game character who accompanies Crash throughout his journey.
7. Khaled tests his calligraphy as he takes notes
While Quavo paints, the DJ sits on a couch nearby. When the camera reveals what he has written, the word "goddess" is written on the page in soft script calligraphy.
8. Chance Wears No Hat
Chance the rapper is known for his kind of flat-brimmed hats. However, in the Gatsby-style party scene of the video, he gets a new look by wearing a blazer over a knit sweater and, yes, no hat. The look suits him very well.
9. The group is called "Boys in the Castle"
The clapper that appears throughout the video to identify the beginning of each scene gave some insights. The hit clique of Khaled, Bieber, Quavo and Chance call themselves "Boys in the Castle", a smart workaround of calling themselves kings.
10. Khaled's Cha-cha
It is no stranger to shake him, as it becomes clear in his video "Wild Thoughts" with Rihanna. Khaled put on his dance shoes for "No Brainer" again and danced on a staircase with a dancer in a red dress, while Bieber sings in the back.
