What makes you special?

As explained at the announcement, the RTX supercards are basically a souped-up version of the existing NVIDIA product line. They're replacing the faster "Ti" cards we've come to expect from the company (though the 2080 Ti is confusingly still the king of the RTX hill). They are not upgrades for people who jumped on the last year's charts, but rather a reward for those who have been waiting.

According to NVIDIA, the 2060 Super is about 15 percent faster than the 2060 and almost keeps up with the original 2070. That's a compelling achievement for that price, especially if you do not mind overclocking to get a little more speed out of it. Both cards have three DisplayPort connectors, one HDMI connector and USB-C "VirtualLink" (a single cable to connect future VR headsets). </p>

If you Spend $ 100 more on the faster RTX 2070 Super. It replaces the original model, and you can think of it as a slightly slower version of the RTX 2080. The 2070 Super has 256 more CUDA cores, 16 additional texture units and faster clock speeds (1,605 MHz base and 1,770 MHz boost). All this hardware makes it faster than the GTX 1080 Ti, the latest generation of NVIDIA.

Both cards also do slightly better raytracing performance, although we're still not sure how NVIDIA measures that. The 2060 Super offers 6 giga rays – NVIDIA's name for counting ray tracing speeds – instead of five. The 2070 Super now gets 7 Giga Rays. In practice, this means that both devices can handle realistic reflections, shadows and lighting conditions – the key features of NVIDIA's RTX RTX real-time ray tracing technology – without compromising frame rate.

<p>  When RTX Cards Are Fired NVIDIA was accused of not having enough developers to board the Ray Tracing Trolley. But now that we call titles like <em> cyberpunk </em><em>  of Duty: Modern Warfare </em> and <em> Watch Dogs: Legion </em>you actually have a reason to invest in raytracing. The few games that support the feature now, such as <em> Battlefield V </em>rely on simple things such as the realistic reflection of the sun from your weapons. </p>
<p>  But looking to the future, some developers on the bench are at the center of all raytracing offerings – With <em> Control </em>Remedy has been demonstrating the potential of technology for years. Both Sony and Microsoft have confirmed that raytracing will be available in their next-generation consoles (running on AMD hardware). Therefore, it makes sense that the game makers finally take it seriously. </p>

As we saw in AMD's review On NVIDIA Radeon cards, the hardware of NVIDIA is not surprisingly fast. The $ 399 RTX 2060 Super is on par with the Radeon RX 5700 XT. In some cases, like 3DMark, it's noticeably better, but the NVIDIA GPU is still lagging behind in games like Hitman 2 . This is the kind of gap that can be easily closed by driver updates and game optimization, so I would not have to worry.

The benchmarks are as follows: Both the RTX 2060 Super and the RX 5700 XT The solid $ 399 GPUs deliver the performance you've come to expect from high-end cards a few years ago. You can not go wrong with either option – but of course you only get ray tracing with the RTX 2060. The importance of this feature is up to you and how much you want to make your next future-proof graphics card. At least both cards provide decent raytracing performance. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider the 2060's Super 51 achieved FPS with Ultra Ray tracing settings in 1,440p, while the 2070's Super reached 57 FPS. In my opinion, the slight FPS effect is worthwhile when switching on the function for more realistic shadows and light conditions.

In some cases, such as <em> The Witcher 3 </em> you even get 4K speeds near 60 FPS. To be honest, a card like this 1.440p has to run fast and with maximum graphics performance. </p>
<p>  NVIDIA's two-fan cooler on both GPUs handled the heat significantly better than the AMD design with a fan. During benchmarks and gameplay, the maximum was 82 degrees Celsius. The Radeon cards are constantly heated to 90 ° C under load. AMD will likely get help from third-party vendors, but these numbers are not particularly important when it comes to long-term stability and overclocking. </p>
<p>  Both NVIDIA and AMD need to consider $ 349 GPUs – the simple RTX 2060 and the Radeon RX 5700 – which themselves are great performers. I did not compare the 2060, but when I checked the RX 5700, I was impressed with how effortlessly it went beyond 60 FPS in 1,440p. While these cards save you some money, they can be limited to the benefits of 120 Hz and 144 Hz monitors. </p>
