December 2015 witnessed a series of clashes between New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Cornerback by Carolina Panther, Jason Norman. According to Beckham and the Giants, Beckham's conflict with Norman was instigated by Norman, who physically threatened Beckham Jr. with a baseball bat and shouted homophobic homosexual insults at the beginning of the game.
After this argument speculations about Beckham exploded on mostly black gossip pages.
In a recent interview, GQ Beckham, now a recipient of the Cleveland Browns, asked what it feels like when he's constantly being described as a closed or excited teammate on a photo with a whirlpool.
Beckham said, "I've never had a chance to talk about it. Honestly, it was not offended. I have never had a problem with someone who has his own life that he lives. I have gay friends. It was almost funnier for me. I almost got more involved with them. When someone gives me an ultimatum, I usually go in the opposite direction. If they said that, I would almost go even further with them. I have no problem with someone's sexual orientation. "
GQ added," I have a feeling that contributions like these only contribute to homophobia in the black community. The idea that someone must be gay ̵
Beckham replied," Or because he is close to other men. "Even if they see little videos of me sitting back or something, they'll say I'm looking at a guy's ass. And I like, "Bro, you do not even know where my mind is." It was just a defeat. You would see me with a white woman and say, "Why are not you with a sister?" I do not have any problem with any breed . Love is love. When you are attracted to someone, you are attracted to someone. It has formed such a stigma. [as though] I do not like my own women. No, I do not like anyone who annoys me. [ laughs ] "
