All lanes of the 101 Freeway South were closed on Sunday afternoon in Hollywood near the Melrose Avenue exit after a police officer was involved in the shootout, said Los Angeles Police Department media officer Mike Lopez.

No LAPD officer was injured by Lopez.
At about 4:45 pm, a suspect was found in a nearby apartment complex and was immediately detained. The suspect seemed to bleed on his head due to a worn wound, but the injury did not seem life threatening.
LAPD tweeted that the suspect had entered the pursuit vehicle, a black Range Rover, with a gun and a pistol gun officer involved involved. No officials were injured in the LAPD.
The LAPD also confirmed that the client did not suffer life-threatening injuries, and stated that the suspect was being found using a K9 unit. In addition, a weapon was recovered by LAPD.

At 18:34, a SigAlert was extended for all lanes on the 101 Freeway to the south, to remain closed for another two hours.
All trains were opened just before 10pm on the 101 Freeway.
