Carter County, Missouri –  Police officers from the State Highway Patrol in Missouri arrested a man who was wanted for shooting a soldier and a Carter County Deputy on Friday morning, and van Buren capitulated shortly before 5:00 pm. The police surrounded a house with Cummings most of Friday.
Investigators say he got into a shootout with a deputy and a soldier who issued an eviction notice. Brigg Pierson, Vice President of Carter County, suffered gunshot wounds on the leg, groin and chest. He is in hospital in St. Louis. Soldier Caleb McCoy suffered bullet wounds on his shoulder and his protective vest.
The shooting took place on Friday morning in front of Route M. Carter County is two hours east of Springfield.
