We know, we know; A new day, a new Beat Saber wannabe. But Odys Lab's OnShape has some interesting twists that raised our eyebrows.
In particular, the game looks like a cross between the hit of Beat Games and Tetris. In the eye-catching teaser trailer below, an animated player dodges incoming walls, just like Beat Saber. Then they fight their way through a solid wall. Finally, they cast shapes that fit through human sized holes. All of this, as you guessed, takes place against the background of incredibly engaging electronic dance music.
On Steam Odders promises a "steady flow of songs", which comes after the release of the existing soundtrack. Songs have three difficulty levels and you can challenge friends via leaderboards. It's not clear how each element of the trailer fits into a plane, but it looks like it's a great way to keep fit in VR.
This is not the first attitude to human Tetris that we have seen in VR. Last year, we wrote about Fit It, a game the HTC Vive Tracker used to get your whole body into VR. It does not look like OnShape can track leg movements, etc., but if you move your head and arms, you should still exercise.
We can not find much more information about the game, but it comes to PSVR, SteamVR (Index / Vive / Rift) and "Oculus" this summer. Based on the end of the trailer, we would suspect the latter covers both Rift and Quest.
