OU starts on Thursday against Alabama with the WCWS

NORMAN – Oklahoma Softball No. 1 (54-3) will open Thursday at the Women's College World Series 201

9 at 20:30. CT vs. No. 8-Seed Alabama (57-8) on ESPN 2.

The Sooners are making their eighth appearance at WCWS in the last nine years and on the 13th journey.

This is the seventh time that the Sooners face the Crimson Tide in the WCWS and the tenth post-season meeting. The two programs last met in the opening match of the 2016 World Series; OU won 3-0 in eight innings when freshman Shay Knighten scored a three-hour home run.

In their second double elimination tournament, the Sooners hit Florida No. 5 (49-16) or Oklahoma State No. 13 (44-15). In a win against Alabama OU would play on Friday at 20:30 clock. CT, while a loss Oklahoma would play its second game on Saturday at 13:30.

All session cards and all individual sessions except Session 1 are sold out. For each sold-out session, only a limited number of free-standing cards will be provided. They will be made available on the day of each meeting in the stadium. Fans can also search for tickets at NCAA.com/Exchange, the NCAA approved secondary ticket marketplace.
