Oubre Jr. agrees to a $ 30 million deal to stay with Suns

Restricted free agent Kelly Oubre Jr. has reached a $ 30 million two-year contract with the Phoenix Suns, said BDA Sports Agent Nima Namakian to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Suns had the right to suit any offer from another team.

Oubre thrived in Phoenix After a trade in December, he and Austin Rivers sent from the Wizards to the Suns to Trevor Ariza. In 40 games (12 starts) for Phoenix, Oubre scored career highs at points (16.9), percent (45.3), rebounds (4.9) and assists (1.6).

He was even better after switching to the grid After the All-Star break, the average time was 20 points, 5.7 rebounds and a league high of 2.1.

The only negative for Oubre in his stint with the Suns was a thumb injury that required a minor procedure and ended his season in March.

That did not mitigate Phoenix's feelings for the 23-year-old before making a free decision.

"I said we love Kelly," said Sun General Manager James Jones to reporters in April. "We want Kelly to be here."

Oubre, the 1

5th overall runner-up in the 2015 NBA selection, spent his first four seasons in Washington, averaging 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 steals per game.
