A petition to HBO to redesign the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" with new authors has exceeded a quarter of a million signatures.
The online petition was launched last Thursday, but gained in importance on Wednesday when it rose from 15,000 signatures to over 250,000 in less than 24 hours.
She had 304,940 signatures at 6:30 pm ET.
In contrast to earlier seasons, the last series of "Game of Thrones" was not based on the novels of George RR Martin, but was written by showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss.
The eighth season was increasingly negatively reviewed in the course of the broadcast of episodes. Many viewers criticize that the creators of the series are heading for their end and move away from the established character sheets.
